Andrew
I dont think it is a database issue as much as a resource sharing - I assume
that when the server
is being used then it is putting demand on the IB and the application.
Therefore they are 'soaking' up all the server
processor time
What OS is the Server Running - I'd guess 95/98

Subject: [DUG]: Database Performance
Hi All,
I have a client with a two station peer to peer setup. The "server" is a
PII400 with 64MB RAM running basically only my app and IB5.5. This runs just
fine. The other workstation runs fine unless the server is being actively
used, at which stage it grinds to a halt. The workstation is only a C400
with 32MB but still runs great so long as the server is idle. It must be a
DB issue.
Is there any good reference for databse tuning ? Any advice. Not sure if it
is BDE issue or an IB issue ? Surely the hardware is sufficient for this
setup.
