OK, not what I wrote, but directly for the horses mouth (well, from Graham's, who is not really a horse :) ) Nic. Dear all, In response to this email regarding InterBase and its future, the management at Inprise/Borland Australia & New Zealand would like to inform all our customers of the current official situation. I can confirm that the future of future versions of InterBase is under discussion right now. I can confirm our complete, and unwavering commitment to InterBase 5.x (including the recently released InterBase 5.6) both at an international and local level. This includes technical support & on-going maintenance. I would also like to take this opportunity to point out that locally and around the globe, we have hundreds of thousands of customers, resellers corporations and other partners using InterBase. Our support commitments to those organisations both morally and legally bind us to support those organisations for (in some cases) many years to come. By Thursday PM, we will know more information. I realise that this is not ideal, and that frustrations might exist; but I ask that you please realise we cannot announce anything officially until that time, and that any other information passed will be just innuendo and rumour. As soon as we know official information, I promise to post to this list. [ed note: this went to the ADUG list - I'll post anything similar to the NZDUG list as soon as I get it -Nic] best regards Graham Porter Marketing Director, Inprise Australia & New Zealand > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On > > Behalf Of Carl Reynolds > > Sent: Wednesday, 22 December 1999 8:23 > > To: ADUG (E-mail) > > Subject: FW: ADUG: The next step > > > > > > (from the NZ Delphi users group) > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > > From: Tony Blomfield [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > > > Sent: Wednesday, 22 December 1999 6:04 > > > To: Multiple recipients of list delphi > > > Subject: [DUG]: Fw: The next step > > > > > > > > > > > > -----Original Message----- > > > From: Paul Reeves <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > Date: Wednesday, 22 December 1999 01:15 > > > Subject: The next step > > > > > > > > > > > > > >A brief recap: > > > > > > > >Last Friday several top managers of resigned from InterBase > > > because they > > > finally > > > >accepted that they did not have the full (any?) support from > > > Dale Fuller > > > the > > > >current managing director of Inprise.
