Before porting an existing application to use
ADO Express components I am trying to produce a simple test application to
display the contents of an Access (version 7) file in a DBGrid - it works fine
on the development machine, however it will not work on another machine which
has all of the same software installed as the development machine, except Delphi
5 and ADO Express - it produces an error "The operation requested by the
application is not supported by the provider" then "Interface not
supported". The provider is Microsoft Jet 3.51 OLE DB Provider, similar
problems occur regardless of the provider selected.
The application is required to be installed and
run on a wide variety of machines, mostly stand-alone, around the country,
mostly by people with little technical expertise. What I need is a clear
explanation of the steps required to achieve a successful implementation and an
indication of what software needs to be installed and where that software can be
sourced, alternatively a pointer to some documentation providing this
information.
I have downloaded all of the Help updates and
while they include a lot of documentation on ADO Express, they seem to miss the
installation information I require.
Thanks in Advance.
