No, we are accessing a machine directly on our internal network.
After a lot of investigation it appears that the component does not check
for available data when it gets FD_CLOSE message.

Are you trying to go through a proxy like wingate?
We had similar probs with TStarFTP until we got the settings right for
wingate.
