Hi Team,
We at Inprise are readying ourselves for a bit of a marketing binge.
No, really!
To that end, we're looking to produce some case studies that highlight the
successes that our clients have had using our products. The intention is
that we will use the material from these case studies as a basis for
articles in the industry press, for a bit of good mutual publicity. An
executive summary of these articles might look like this:
Christchurch-based software developers, ABC Ltd, have recently completed
Way-Cool-Application (tm) for use in the Vertical Market Industry. The
product has Way-Cool-Features and solves all sorts of important problems.
ABC Ltd have recently sold Way-Cool-Application to MegaShop (NZ), and the
Hong-Kong-based Wei-Kewl Thang Ltd. Mr Blobby, CTO of ABC Ltd, said "We
delivered Way-Cool-Application on time, and on budget, thanks to a
combination of our talented development team, and the latest version of
Inprise/Borland's fantastic Delphi 5 development tool".
The intention is to show off local developers, and the excellent products
you're all creating, and to show off our products along the way.
We're interested in promoting all of our products - Delphi, JBuilder,
C++Builder, Visibroker, whatever.
So if you (or your boss, or your boss's boss) think your business would like
some favourable publicity, please drop me an email off-list
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) including some of the following:
- Some information about the software your company has developed
(what is it, why is it?)
- The tools you used to develop it
- Some idea of the 'size' of the project. Number of developers. Time taken
to develop. Number of end users. Lines of code. Whatever.
(But bigger doesn't have to mean better -- Way-Cool is still Way-Cool,
even if one person wrote it in a couple of weeks!!)
- Your intended audience for your product, and perhaps anybody who is using
your product.
Of course we can talk a bit more about this before anybody has to commit to
anything. Eventually our PR company will contact folk and create an
appropriate 'piece' that gets returned to you for full approval, prior to
publication.
Of course we can't guarantee that everybody who sends us an email is going
to end up in print, but we are serious about making some serious PR noises
in the industry.
Thanks for listening -- I look forward to hearing your stories!
Cheers,
Kerry Sainsbury
