I've been evaluating a trial version of PCAnywhere 9.0 for remote access to my
work machine from home. It's fully functional as far as I am aware but has a 30
day timeout.
It's been good except that it's a little slow on the screen repaints. The modem
at home is 56K (which normally connects at 48K) while the modem on my work
machine is 33.6K. Am hoping to connect via a VPN connection which could speed
it up marginally. The bottleneck would be from the 56K modem to the exchange.
>From thereon I presume it's digital. Looked into ADSL which would be perfect
because of it's asymmetric design. Unfortunately ADSL require use of Telecom's
wire network and ClearNet (our internet provider) does not offer this service.
Hope this helps.

Advise: Spend a few hundred dollars - buy PCAnywhere. This function comes
straight out of the box.
