I was recently sourcing an LCD touchscreen and wound up purchasing from
JenLogix (Onehunga). I searched the net and there were plenty of places,
but I had special needs in the form of a lightweight version for a handheld
solution.

If you're looking for conversion units, there's a company called ELO in the
US. As it turns out, the screen I purchased from JenLogix was a regular LCD
screen with an ELO add-on. This is common as ELO are a major touchscreen
supplier.

As far as the technical stuff goes, it works just like a mouse - it plugs
into the serial port. It comes with some calibration software and the whole
thing is painless. There are a few little options in the driver for
simulating right clicks and handling dragging slightly differently, but
they're just a matter of personal comfort.

There are three different kinds of touchscreen: passive, resistive and
capacitive. I can't remember all the details, but passive works with both
finger and stylus but I believe the other two do not. Check with your
supplier.

Cheers.
                            BJ...
