There was a recent article on SlashDot about "Big Ball of Mud" architecture.
In this paper the authors discuss why the BBOM architecture is so popular,
and various ways to improve your business systems architecture. Problem is
that the original site got Slashdotted - so I asked the authors if I could
mirror the original article - and they approved.
Now, I didn't get the full text myself, but after something like 20 attempts
I figure I got pretty close, and what is there is worth reading. I have put
