Well.....I DID install D5 before D3 when I ORIGINALLY innstalled them on
this machine, but I have since then removed both Delphi's and the
BDE.....but that is the same sort of error I am getting.....agh !! maybe I
need to instll NT and Delphi AGAIN !!

Have you tried reinstalling D3? A guy I used to work with installed D5
then D3 and he couldn't view any images that we stored in a database (blob
field) in our application on his machine. I would say you have a BDE
conflict...
