Thank God the code is open source now, and there's some hope that the IB
community (including Anne Harrison and Jim Starkey) can continue to develop
and promote this great product. I've been following the other side of this
snafu and it doesn't look pretty.
On a positive note, I noticed on SlashDot this morning that Cobalt Networks
(makers of the sexy Cobalt Cube and Cobalt RaQ server systems) are bundling
IB 6.0 with all their products from now on to provide web developers with an
industrial strength, low maintenance DB. And of course, IB 6.0 is now part
of the Mandrake Linux distribution as of version 7.1.
