I've given up trying to get generic printer to work and have written my own
pascal text file driver and send data to the printer using CreateFile /
WriteFile API calls. Works perfectly - no character translations or trapping
so I can talk to my matrix printer just like I used to all that time ago in
another land - DOS !!
Anyone who'd like the code let me know.
