(I've seen some vacancy posts on here before so I gather that it's ok - if
not then sorry but just email me about where it should go next time rather
than start a whole thread about it...)

Software/Firmware Engineer

Commtest Instruments is fast growing electronics & software company with a
rapidly expanding global presence. We are an energetic company with an
entrepreneurial spirit who produce a successful range of portable diagnostic
instruments and related software. Our current emphasis is on Vibration
Analysis of rotating machinery. Our greatest strength is our technical
agility enabling us to respond quickly to market demands. For more
information on our company, please visit our website at www.commtest.co.nz.

Commtest has an immediate opening for an experienced software/firmware
engineer. The chosen candidate will initially write firmware first to
enhance our existing product range, and later for our next generation of
instrumentation. They will work with our engineering team to define and
implement the instrument's user interface, and signal processing of raw
measurement data into meaningful text and graphics.

We require a practical customer-focused team player thoroughly conversant in
Assembly Language (8051 variant) who is also at ease programming in higher
level embedded languages. Familiarity with Visual tools such as
Delphi/VB/C++ would be helpful. Electronic hardware design and DSP
programming experience are also desired, but not essential. While previous
experience is important, a proven ability to learn quickly and independently
is crucial.

If you would like to add your talents to our team, please forward your CV

Note that it looks like the focus could be much more on Delphi/Interbase
work than assembler.

A fast response is important because we are already interviewing (ie before
end of week). Oh and the location is Christchurch, on the edge of Hagley
Park.
