Ah, but with MDI you only have stinky fish on the menu, and in the end the
mercury gets to your head. :-)

These days many of the good points of MDI behaviour are available without
needing an MDI app.  I used MDI for a long time (in D4 and before) and it
was functional, but there were a lot of unpleasant issues do deal with,
making me think that if I started again I'd try to achieve the same thing in
other ways (docking, child forms and so on).  For example, if you have a
normal form you can Merge its menu with another to imitate MDI (if you can
bear that behaviour), but if you have an MDI form you still can't unmerge
AFAIK.
