I have a developer with the following problem:
His Env:
NT4 WKS SP5
Delphi 5.0 Enterprisewith Patch #1
MDAC 2.50.4403.12
SQL7 Desktop Edition SP2
Order of installation (In case that broke MDAC in some way)
- D5
- D5 Patch
- M$'s MDAC 2.50.4403.12 install
- SQL7
- SQL7 SP2
To recreate the problem he does the following: (Essentially this means he
can not develop at all)
1. Reboot
2. Load Delphi with dummy project with breakpoint
3. Run this project. Brekpoints fine.
4. Canel and reopen existing project with ADO components. This loads OK,
can see ADO components
5. "Build " compiles and links OK
6. Run (there is a breakpoint) gives "bordbk50.dll not present or
registered"
7. reopen dummy project Above, run it and it breakpoints fine.
8. Reopen existing project with ADO components and get "Error creating
Object: ...data access components..." cancel and get message warning me to
install MDAC 2.1 or greater.
Anybody got any pointers for me? TIA
