I didn't say this very well.
What i meant was that (I think) when MS says they will discontinue
support they mean they'll stop using the WideString version
of StoreIDs (which is really a throwback to the earlier pre
MSExchange MAPI I think) and Outlook will start using the
structure EntryIDs like Exchange does.
In other words - the "string" representation itself will become
obsolete. So the functions will follow. (and any code that
depends on these string representations as well).
But again - I'm guessing here.

Because (my interpretation) the "discontinued support" isn't for the
function - it's for the format. Or for this particular mapping
between these formats.
I'm guessing here. Don't place too much weight on it. I think
the MS functions (there's also one to map the other way) do exactly
what these 2 functions do.
