Not correct. While there are early IBO versions of common controls, IBO now has a
direct replacement for TDatabase, TTable and
TQuery allowing you to use all controls that interface directly to these controls.
I just hooked up TIBODatabase to a TIBOTable and connected to an Interbase Database,
then placed a standard TDatasource and
TDBGrid and connected then, and with no code got a view of my Table - no BDE, no code.

For those not in the know FIB was the the precursor to IBX.
