Subject: [DUG]: Delphi 5 wont run

Hi all

I have a problem that someone may be able to help with.
Recently I had a major computer crash which caused problems with windows 98. The best solution was to reinstall windows to a new directory and start all over again.

Did you reinstall all apps, including Delphi?

I have installed windows 98 SE and since then, I can't get delphi 5 to run. All other software seems to work OK but delphi 5 starts, brings up the splash screen, does a lot of HD work and just when I expect it to bring up the IDE, it hangs. Even the three finger solut won't work. I've installed the update to no avail. Uninstalled, deleted directory but still no go. Is there a problem with windows 98 SE??  using an AMD k6 ii 450 MHz and this has worked fine for years. The only change is the upgrade to SE.

Are you referring to the plain Delphi 5 installation or after you have installed updates?

If you start your computer in safe mode, does it run Delphi successfully?
