I think that as C++ is to C so is Delphi to Pascal. One of the reasons why I
found Delphi easy to learn was the thorough grounding in Pascal that I
received in University. These days I believe (subject to correction!) that
most universities are teaching Java rather than Pascal. This increases the
amount of learning that new Delphi users will have to do.
Outside of Delphi, how active is the Pascal market? I haven't seen any job
applications of Pascal developers for years!
