It's a pain in the arse. Being restricted to a single directory structure
on your machine means that you can't simultaneously work on more than one
version of the same software without that single directory being relegated
to a mere "check in/out" area, from which you have to do a whole lot of
needless copying and constant emptying. Having previously used a source
control system that allowed developers to check out their source trees to
any location, I can say that it has numerous advantages. This is FreeVCS'
biggest shortcoming in what is otherwise a great free product.
