There is a one year training course in Delphi available from one of the
private institutions. I can't remember though - sorry. I guess you could do
a ring around.
A good book is Delphi (4 or 5) Developers Guide by Steve Teixeira & Xavier
Pacheco. I have read it from the viewpoint of an experienced Delphi
developer, but the early chapters do a pretty good job of explaining Object
Pascal and OO in general.
It is (along with others) from www.itknowledge.com, which allows a free
trial I think.
Also a good website to look at is www.delphi.about.com which has quite a few
tutorials for beginners.
Last but not least, try
http://www.delphi-jedi.org/Jedi:KBASEBOOKLIST:77339
which has a list of free Delphi books available on-line.
Good Luck.

Subject: [DUG]: Where can I learn?
Hello All,
I am currently itching to learn Delphi. I have just come back from the Chch
Polytech and found that they don't have any courses on delphi this year. I
live in Christchurch and would like to learn delphi 4 or above. I have
programming background but not in OO languages. Could someone please advise
me as to where I would be best to learn delphi in the Christchurch area.
Thanks for your help! regards,
Glenn Bull
