Have a look if the IndexFieldNames property of your CDS is set, this will
override the query's ORDER BY clause.

Hi, I have a TQuery that has an ORDER BY clause, this is attached to a
Provider->ClientDataSet. When I open the C-DS, it doesn't respect the ORDER
BY at all, and the contents spew out in some random (but consistent) order.
Any idea why?
