Can't tell you how they are constructed. But they are typically used in com
objects to eliminate naming conflicts between different versions of a
product or different products. They are also assigned at design time and can
be viewed in your code, hence they remain static. What are you trying to do
with a GUID number? Are you actually looking for a unique PC Identifier?
