Hi Ian,
Have you run the Resource Meter (Start, Programs, Accessories, System
Tools - might need to be installed), to see what level the
user/system/gdi resources are at?
The trouble with Win9x is that it has a limited area for these
resources, and when you run out, that's it - only resolved by a
shutdown/restart, from what I understand.
The main problem with these resources is that some programs don't
release all of the resources they allocate, so they eventually get
chewed up and you have to restart.
