Hi all,
I have used some of the common AVI files in the Animate component in a
couple of my apps... I have also seen that Microsoft decided to change
some of these common AVIs with the release of Windows 2000... So now my
app's little animated icons look a bit out of place... (i.e. stupid)
I decided to construct a new component that uses a thread to display the
images from an image list. However, for some reason this has not worked,
even with the thread priority set to TimeCritical, whenever my app
enters a loop for example, my animations stop whereas the TAnimate
component's AVI file didn't. (Also looked on the web for other thread
driven animation control and the only (thread driven) one I found does
the same...)
So, back to the TAnimate and the AVI...
How do I compile an AVI file into the exe. I see that the TAnimate
component allows me to load the AVI from a resource... So I gather I
need a resource editor, which Delphi doesn't seem to supply... (I had a
look at the very (very very) old Resource Workshop that came with one or
other version of Delphi, but I can't see how to add an AVI file in there
either...
Any info or pointers to good Resource editors (or whatever else I need)
would be appreciated.
Regards
C Fraser
