If it is a custom dialog, run the dialog, look at the source and see what
the dialog does with the fields. It may just be encoding them on the end of
the login url with ampersand.

Yes, unfortunately it does, since the company that owns the files provided
us only with HTTP access.
Also, I suspect that the username and p/w parameters are not passed to the
site on the address line. And, they are not present in the source code of
the page (since the page is generated after the parameters have been
verified). Nor do I have the names of the input parameters for the page.
This raises another question which is probably too much to ask. If it's not
possible to pass parameters to a page (in this case), how do I (if possible
at all) pass user name and password from D5 app to a pop up dialog (most
likely some script on the background) in IE?
