I had a look at grep - it (the version I have) appears to be a DOS app.
I was after something I can use in the IDE - Double-click to the line (pas files) etc.

I thought of GExperts - I would rather not load a set of tools just for searching.

I would use NT's Search | Find in Files but the removed that from Win2K (I liked to be able to search and continue using WindowsExplorer)
I'll have to live with the Win2K version of search (It can tell me what DFM's are affected) and  delphi for Pas files.

Thanks everyone.

I notice that in the Delphi6\Bin directory there is a grep utility - try that.

Subject: [DUG]: Search

Has anyone else had problems (hopefully found a solution) with the search Find in Folders when looking for Text in DFM's ?

I have tried searching for DataSource names in DFM's but Delphi (D6) tells me it can't find any...
All my DFM's are Text.
I have specified Drive\Directory\*.*
I have tried Drive\Directory\*.DFM
I even tried specifying the filename C:\MyDir\MyFile.DFM
 - this reported "System Error: Code 2" could not find the specified file.
 - I get this error weather or not I am viewing the file in Delphi

Anyone else found this - I need a way to quickly/easily find, by name, where DataSources are used.

TIA
