Hi, Can you give some more details about the app?
Does "via the internet" mean it will have a web browser front-end or that it will send data via the net? I assume it will be web browser-based since you mention CGI and this is what CGI tends to be used for... My personal preference is not to use Delphi for web apps unless you need the performance of compiled code. Don't get me wrong, I think Delphi's great, but IMHO it's not always the best tool for the job. How big will your app be? If it's smallish I'd go for using something like PHP, or better yet , Python :). Both are easy to pick up. You will find maintennance sooo much easier, especially if you have to make urgent changes and there isn't a Delphi compiler at hand ;) Perhaps I can make some more comments if you can give a bit more info. I am looking at developing an application which will need to access one database from two different locations, via the internet. of course i could just wizz up another cgi app... but i would like to try something different as this is the only area i have done any serious development in delphi. What would be your choice?
