To answer my own question... It's a limitation. Had a look at stctrls and the paint method for both a TCustomLabel & a TCustomGroupBox. The TCustomLabel drawing is smart and checks for the enabled property. In the TCustomGroupBox the caption always gets drawn the same way. Now for the next question... Why on earth do these controls not behave in the same way WRT drawing their captions? Is there a good reason why things are the way they are? Thanks,
