Not that this helps you, but for the record, Windows ME's is a progression of Windows 98 code-base not NT/2000. Windows XP, on the other hand, evolved from a Windows 2000 code-base, so I would expect it to return VER_PLATFORM_WIN32_NT. (Maybe someone could confirm this?)
