You need to write a New Object expert. The deveil is in the details. I suggest that you grab the source for GExperts from http://www.gexperts.org/. The site also include a very good OTA FAQ that will help you with lots of the seriously funky stuff. I would recommded Ral Lischner's books, but these are now out of print. And somewhat out of date as well.
