hi, is there a way of disabling either one of this under Windows 2000?

i already dropped the start button but the ctrl-esc key is still working.

You can disable/filter most key combinations using a low-level keyboard hook. The exception is Ctrl-Alt-Del, which I believe is handled by windows before the low-level keyboard hook chain is called. There's a few examples around of how to write something like this.

If you want to stop Ctrl-Alt-Del as well, you have to install a keyboard filter driver. I have no idea how, but apparently it's explained in the Windows DDK.
