J, The other alternative is to change the values. Looks like you are talking about a duration. i.e. translate the date and time into a duration in seconds, minutes or Hours (decimal) and plot that instead.

The problem I have is, that on many occasions, the durations add up to over 24hrs, so when I plot them, the data is not quite as expected. What happens is, if say a duration is 38hrs, the left hand axis shows 31/12/1899 14:xx:xx xx being a value. Cleary this is UGLY and is of very little use to the user.
