Is port 3050 open on your firewall?
Those are TCP/IP errors i.e. the network requests cannot get to the
desired destination.
Nothing to do with FB per-se.

Thanks Tracey and everyone,

I still have not been able to connect.

I'm using D2007 and when connecting through TIBDatabase, the connection
shows...

Remote
Protocol: TCP
Server: <192.xxx.x.xxx>
Database: C:\Program Files\Firebird\DB\<databasename>.FDB

Username and password are the standard ones. (Items in <> have been
replaces with exact names.)

Interestingly, when I press the "Test" button on the "Database
Component Editor" (on the TIBDatabase), the systems goes away for some
time, but eventually comes back with
Unable to complete network request to host "192.xxx.x.xxx:3050".
    Failed to establish a connection.
    unknown Win32 error 10061.

I have tried with 192.xxx.x.xxx:3050:C:\Program
Files\Firebird\DB\<filename>.fdb and various other cokmbinatio0ns, so
far without success.
