well the person who didnt put a ".free" after a function is called in a class should be fired !!.....oh hang on, that was me :-)

But still, I am perplexed as to why it only showed when its run as a stand alone exe and not when it runs from the IDE. I mean, when you run it from the IDE its compiling the exe then running the same exe right?

I have seen TAction and its’ associates etc use quite a bit of CPU time while idle in some cases, esp if code enables/disables stuff all the time (flip/flop cases).

I have an exe that when I run from within the IDE uses between 0 and 1 % of the CPU
If it run the exe on its own, i.e. double click on the file name in windows explorer, it uses upwards of 50% !!!!!!
Anyone seen anything like this? p.s. this is on the same machine even, and doesnt matter if the Delphi IDE is open or not....weired....
