D2007 the help is actually quite good and comprehensive, still prefer the
speed and layout of the earlier help, eg D5. The MS Document Explorer (used
for the D2006/D2007 help) is glacially slow to load and search - it means in
practice you don't dare press F1 on a component to bring up the help as
there will be a 30 second non-responding delay while the help loads.....

The good news is you can load the earlier help in the Utilities menu:

(if you have Vista you will need to copy on a version of WINHLP32.EXE)

eg an example - you can modify for other versions of Delphi as I don't have
D7.

Tools/Configure:

Title: Delphi 5 Help

Program: WINHLP32

Working Dir: C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi5\Help

Parameters: C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi5\Help\Delphi5.hlp

and...

Title: Delphi5 Win32SDK

Program: WINHLP32

Working Dir: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\MSHelp

Parameters: win32.hlp

Funny that is all a problem in D2005P

Hi,

Use d 2007 for a while and find it very annoying that copy and paste
for components does work sometimes and sometimes NOT. I have to close
the file and open again and then it works for a while.
Is there a fix in sight?

Also the help is a pest compared to d7 help. Is there a better way
than using the old help files?

thanks
 sigi
