HI Alister,

Horses for courses.

Many programmers on this List work on just one or two large projects, in which 
case it is a no-brainer to use OO.

On the other hand, many others are involved with many smaller projects, in 
which case the RAD approach wins out.

Somewhere along the way you need to make a call as to the cost effectiveness of 
either approach, in terms of the initial cost, ease of maintenance, system 
performance etc.

Personally I've always rolled my own Object Layers.
