Synapse is another set of (free) controls you could use.
They are prob. the best, Matt Comb will attest to this, however, they are
not event driven and you do have to do some leg-work with them, but they are
pretty damn good.

Just an update on the TCP Socket programming post for those that are
interested ...

I installed the ICS package as suggested by Paul.

The installation was a breeze and with the demo TCP Client example I was
able to talk to the server immediately without writing any of my own code -
magic!

One of the good points is that you can have either blocking or non-blocking
sockets as required but the major plus is that it is fully event driven,
i.e. there's a "data received" event etc.

I'm now using Synapse.. A lot less help, but stable and reliable and
efficient.. Indy was a project I gave up on when it started filling up with
bugs at the Dot Net era.

Yes, I am.
I write all my servers and client software with it.
It's very stable and fast
V7 works with D2009 with lot's of demo's

If you have questions, subscribe to the twsocket list ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
You'll get good support there

Indy isn't bad either, but blocking only.
With ICS, a server can handle hundreds of connections in a single thread and
very fast.
