Records come in quite slowly, its capturing the output data from a PABX to get office phone call info, so 1 every few seconds is likely. PABX has a serial output option with a fixed format, no buffering - it just outputs the data as calls end. There is commercial software to do this with database and reports, but in this case all they want is to capture the data for further processing at the end of the day...
