Sounds like your export environment does all or no fields - can you not
specify only certain fields?
When "importing" with XL make sure you specify "parsing" to force text
on certain columns - don't just open the file with XL or you may get
unexpected results.  Our Accountants often open csv files with XL -
stripping off leading zeros on codes.  To "import", unfortunately, you
must navigate to the folder to find your file - not good if you want to
quickly work on a whole bunch of files.

        Surround the data in double quotes when exporting. This forces
Excel to treat it as text.
