I have many components that need to play nice together that I always have trouble getting installed into the IDE. The D7 to D2006 upgrade was painful, D2006 to D2007 was trivial. I've been procrastinating over the D2007 -> 9 -> 10 upgrade.
I think my next development environment will be a Virtual Machine which will allow me to experiment a bit more aggressively, I understand that quite a few people are using VMs for this purpose these days.
