No it doesn't; well not for me anyway. For me, it does exactly what you asked for. Outlook's my default mail client, and I get the expected functionality you originally asked for. But I would expect it to work the same for any mail client. That's my understanding of how the mailto protocol specifier is intended to be used. What's your email client? Cheers, C.
