>From Vista onwards, Microsoft changed the memory management subsystem to no longer use fixed size boot allocation for System Pages, Paged Pool and non-paged Pool but rather resize them dynamically if they run out of one and have 'spare' amounts of the others. The fixed size design dates back to the original Windows NT 3.51 days when 1Gb of RAM was considered huge.
