there is an example using the "OnExecute" Event. This seems to trigger when data comes in so this might work.
Are you using Indy 9 or Indy 10? As I told you before, Indy 9's TIdTelnetServer has a CommandHandlers property, in which you can register various commands that you want your server to recognize. That way, you can let Indy's code figure out what the command is and what its parameters are, and you just have to write event handlers for each separate command. Indy 10 doesn't seem to have that facility anymore; could have something to do with .Net or fibers, but you'd have to ask on an Indy newsgroup to find out for sure.
Do you know of any other Telnet Server components that are available?
It doesn't look like ICS has a specially made telnet server, but since telnet is little more than text sent over TCP, I would imagine the regular TWSocketServer component would work just fine. (Note that TIdTelnetServer's OnExecute event is inherited straight from TIdTCPServer, and the example you posted was from that component, not from the specialized telnet server component.)
