Hi, I have a Delphi application in my hand which has been written by one of our collegues at the office.
Application was written in Borland Delphi 5. Platform of PC where it was developed is Microsoft 2000 SP4. Application takes data from Microsoft Access 2000 SP3 and having made necessary evaluations returns another database file as output. After my collogue had built the application, he had given the executable in order to be used on PC having Windows 98 as Operating System and it was working fine. However after PC of the person who was using the executable migrated to Windows XP SP-2, it started to give the following error whenever one attempts to run the executable ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Error Signature AppName:degerlendiren.exe AppVer:0.0.0.0 ModName:kernel32.dll ModVer:5.1.2600.2180 Offset:0001eb33 Also, error message informs that the error report can be sent to Microsoft and the error report is supposed to include the following file C:\Documents and Settings\helga\Local Settings\Temp\c947_appcompat.txt However, I cannot find the file c947_appcompat.txt in the computer. Every time I attempt to run the executable the first four letters before _ (underscore sign) changes while "appcompat.txt" remains unchanged Our collegue who wrote the application left and he was the only person having knowledge about Delphi. Unfortunately I am given this task to cope with this problem (my task involves Consulting experts), since I was the only available one at that time. Having seen an error file name involving the phrase "appcompat.txt" I thought that it can be related to one of the application compatibilty problems related to Windows XP. However, before attempting to do anything I thought it would be much wiser to consult an expert I'd be very grateful if I can get some expert advice Thanx in advance _______________________________________________ Delphi mailing list -> [email protected] http://www.elists.org/mailman/listinfo/delphi
