Hi, All

I am faced with the task of re-usable building of rapid application
development evironments for graphical user interfaces for languages in which
such development and testing (especially widget layout and event handler
routines) is unnecessarily complex. I would like to use a toolkit such as TK
and integrate its widget set with an arbitrary compiled language, e.g., C, C++,
Fortran, i.e., typical scientific and engineering programming languages. I know
of integrated development environements integrating an editor, a compiler, and
a linker developped in Delphi, but is there a way of developing a reusable "gui
builder" toolkit atop a widget set such as that of TK to automate integration
of the underlying language with its integrated development environment as an
add-in that would give a backend file based IDE a front-end oriented GUI
builder tool?

Thanks for any advice,

    Paule
