Probably, the fastest way to do that is to carefully select all the bits 
and pieces that you want to have belong to the gropu box, cut them, select 
the group box, and then paste the bits and pieces back.

Essentially, just because you drop the group box/panel/whatever on top of 
the bits and pieces, it doesn't mean that they belong to the group 
box/whatever.  In fact, it means quite the opposite . . . the group box and 
the bits are not at all associated (as you found out).  In fact, I have 
occasionally gotten in a hurry and dropped a panel on a form then selected 
the form for some reason and then, with the form was covered by various 
panels, merrily gone about dropping components "on" various panels, only to 
later discover that they are actually on the _form_ instead of the 
_panels_.  That is when _I_ usually wind up carefully selecting the bits 
and pieces for each panel and "re-assigning" them.
