The PrintOut method can take parameters, one of which is "Background". Clearly I want to print in the background, so I had tried setting Background to True. But that hadn't solved the problem, hence my assumption that Windows wasn't handling it. But apparently, to print in the background, I must set "Background" to .... False. Problem solved. < Sigh > Thank you Steffer at www.faqsen.de and apologies to anyone who may have spent time thinking of solutions for me.
