Probably not. If you've got a system setup and working perfectly
for such a selective area of endeavor and your imaging libraries work well
with it there's nothing in BDS 2006 to really entice you unless you want to
explore NET. BTW...What libraries are you using for imaging? I've been
using ImageLib Combo Pak since D7 myself with great success and it compiled
over for use in 2006 without a single hiccup! The ONLY thing I don't like
about it is that I have to distribute a runtime DLL with my applications
that use it.

Subject: Upgrade to Delphi 2006?

All my applications (image processing and photogrammetry) are
currently compiled with Delphi 7 using VCL only. I don't use BDE,
ADO, Interbase, Internet, Rave, Indy Web Services etc. In fact, I
previously used D5 and found that the upgrade to D7 added little
other than somewhat greater stability in the IDE and the debugger.

Is there anything in Delphi 2006 which might justify the expense of
an upgrade from D7 in my case?
