Hi,

As many of you are aware Mac McGruder hosts and covers the associated costs
with our Lists. The PayPal Donations have helped to keep the lists going -
but the time has come where he really needs to hand the lists over to
someone else.

We really do want to keep the lists under MailMan (which runs on Linux) if
possible.

If you would like to know more details about what is involved and/or think
you can help, please contact Mac direct at mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

We need to have a new host prior to 15 May 2006 - as that is when the lights
will go out :)

The following is the specs as Justin specified them when he was running
things before Mac:

- Have a Linux box...the DB files that make up the config (I believe) are
OS-specific. If someone had a *BSD box, they might have to do some funky
exporting/importing. There may be some issues if using drastically different
installations of Linux (Slackware is typically one of the least annoying).

- Have a mail server (preferably exim, postfix, sendmail) configured with
SPAM filters.

- Provide 3.3GB of space minimum for the current mailman directory, which
includes the archived web content. At least 10GB should be provided so
backups can be made during upgrades.

- Be able to install and maintain the Mailman software.

- Commit to operating the lists is the spirit of the Delphi community. By
that I mean we will not turn them over to someone who intends to sell
advertising, etc via the lists or to sell the subscriber addresses.

If you wanted to use the same web pages, you would also need to install
Mambo, PHP & MySQL.
