Hi Chris,

there are two open source .NET chart libraries:

http://www.nplot.com/
http://zedgraph.org/

Both look very nice, but i didn't have a closer look at them yet.

Subject: How to create Pie Charts and store them as Gif for display via HTML

Guys,

We are looking for a way to create on the fly a Gif of Pie Charts to be
included in reports. However there are some small twists in the
requests:

We have a Think-Client application that has a build-in AxWebBrowser
(SHDocVw) for displaying HTML pages both created locally on the users PC
(not using any Web Server) or on-line help information. The later by the
way I can highly recommend since we have been able to make the on-line help
come alive with hints and FAQ driven by request to the Help Desk which in
return make the users wanted to come back and read the on-line help.

Since we have this function of displaying locale HTML pages we opted for
also represent reports to the user via HTML. So fare so good but now we
want to expand the reports to also include graphs of dynamic data. The way
to do that I assume is to create the chart, store the chart in a Gif file
and then add the code to the HTLP page.

One more thing we would like to do this using Delphi 2005 / 2006 in Dot Net
none Borland VCL mode. However if we do not find a solution we can if
needed create the creation of Gif's in Win32 and use the Interop too, but
that has to be last option.

Any suggestion or ideas?

Bjarne
